About Us
The Fraser Valley Community Winds is a community-based charity that comes together to contribute and build our musical skills, perform quality music, have fun, and contribute to community spirit through music!
The FVCW is a registered charity as the Abbotsford Concert Band Society. We are proud to serve our community through music and dedicate ourselves to advancing appreciation of quality music, growing in musical skill, and reaching hearts of all ages.
We have been part of the music community in the Fraser Valley for nearly sixty years, playing a wide assortment of music from marches to dance music to symphonic festival pieces at just about any sort of community event where music can lift the heart.
The FVCW enjoys being a diverse group. Our ensemble includes members from their early teens to late eighties, and range from people who like to keep up with their hobby to musicians with a career in the field. Whether you took band in school or learned an instrument later, the FVCW is a great place to utilize and refine your musical skills while having fun. We are always looking for new intermediate to advanced players of all ages to join us!
The Fraser Valley Community Winds is under the direction of Mr. Nic Renaud, a music teacher in the Langley School District. We rehearse Thursday evenings from 7:30pm – 9:30pm in Abbotsford. Drop in for a rehearsal or give us a shout if you want to know more!
We respectfully acknowledge that we rehearse and perform on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Stó:lō people, the Semá:th First Nation, and Mathxwí First Nation.
